The pose: King Dancer (aka Natarajasana)

The location: A forest in the Al Azr in Akkar region of Lebanon

The benefits: This beautiful posture (which is also referred to as the Lord of the Dance Pose) is incredibly freeing and releases endorphins that help to open up your heart. You need a good sense of alignment and patience to master it.

*When did your yoga journey begin?
It began in 2006. I was burnt out and was suffering from a back injury. Yoga was the best de-stressor.

*What kind of yoga do you teach?
I am a certified Bikram Yoga teacher and teach in Beirut, Lebanon. My Teacher Training took place in San Diego in October 2010.

*How has yoga transformed your life?
It has helped me to make clear and healthier decisions in life and because of it I live a happier lifestyle. I feel blessed,

Besides yoga, what are your passions in life?
I love dancing and writing. I also like anything that is related to nature and the mountains.

*What are your go-to snacks?
Apples, raw almonds and caju fruit.

How did you spend your summer?
I’ve been super busy organizing the First Beirut Yoga Festival, which begins tomorrow! All the proceeds of the festival go to the Lebanese Red Cross.

*What’s your mantra in life?
Clarity of heart, clarity of mind.
