THE MUSIC CONSPIRACY THEORY

“Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it.
Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality.
It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics”

Albert Einstein

Over the weekend my friends and I got together for a session of Kundalini Awakening Meditation. A few compared the experience to taking Ayahuasca, the mind-altering brew, containing Dimethyltryptamine (or DMT) the active ingredient that has the power to open our Third Eye. Geometric colours and shapes were dancing in front of our eyes while the whole body came alive with tingling energetic vibrations. Flamenco guitar music (think Paco de Lucia) hummed in the background, helping to raise our frequency levels, so our bodies were ready to receive energetic transmissions.

This got me thinking about the ability of music to lift and diminish our frequency levels. Science is now saying what ancient sages have been saying for centuries – the Universe is in a constant state of vibration and the most fundamental state is sound. As the legendary Serbian scientist Nikola Tesla once said: “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” These are the building blocks of consciousness.

Music is a powerful drug. Besides producing a potent effect on our own energy field, its influence on the collective consciousness of the planet is immense. Scientific studies show that the blood in our body moves differently depending upon the quality and frequency of the sounds we hear. So, heavy metal, opera and soulful jazz each have a distinct effect upon our cellular structure. And just as an opera singer hitting certain notes has the power to shatter glass, imagine what is happening within our cells.

In a nutshell, research shows that sound in its purest form (high frequency music) helps keep our body in a healthy state whereas low frequency sounds lower our immune system. Bruce Tainio, the brainchild behind a machine called the BT3 Frequency Monitoring System discovered that the human brain has an average frequency of 72-90 MHz, while the body is at 62-68 MHz.

Diseases have lower frequencies – for instance, flu operates at 57 MHz while cancer begins at 42 MHz. If the body maintains a high frequency, then it can’t succumb to sickness. When we are in resonance with the Universe, our body is in balance. Music creates a deep impact on the way our chakras are aligned. That’s why many use sound for healing and for elevation.

In the same vein, the music industry holds great sway in that it can manipulate the planet’s musical frequency and in turn our wellbeing. Some artists like Jason Mraz have managed to straddle the fine line between being mainstream and operating at a slightly higher frequency level (his instruments calibrate at a higher Hertz) and from a soul dimension, he shines through with his lyrics.

Overall, mainstream music is still flooded with nonsense, keeping the population unconsciously ‘dumbed down’ with tired lyrics that fuel greed and fear and the ego, at the same time keeping our bodies in lower frequency.

The ideal frequency of music (that is in line with Mother Earth) is 432 Hz. However, in 1953, the International Standards Organisation endorsed a frequency of 440Hz, which is now the pitch of most mainstream music. There is a plausible theory suggesting that the change from 432 to 440 Hz was initially dictated by the Nazi propaganda minster Joseph Goebbels. Experts say this pitch isn’t healthy for us. In a paper entitled ‘Musical Cult Control’, Dr. Leonard Horowitz reveals: “The music industry features this imposed frequency that is herding populations into greater aggression, psycho social agitation and emotional distress predisposing people to physical illness.”

MC Dynamite succinctly summed up the lower frequency of mainstream music with her lyrics:

“Now who gives a damn
About the ice on your hands?
If it’s not too complex
Tell me how many Africans died
For the baguettes on your Rolex?
So what you pushing a nice car
Don’t you know there’s no such thing as superstar
We leave this world alone
So who gives a f*ck about the things you own?”

That’s not to say that It Takes More is a track that appears at the top of the High Frequency musical charts, but she makes a poignant point. Artists like Bob Marley were operating at a higher frequency level – he spread positive vibrations that spoke to us on a deeper, soul level. He also had a serious impact on the thinking process at that time.

Admittedly, I still listen and dance to lower frequency tracks, especially those that bring back moving memories (think Madonna’s La Isla Bonita). We can’t discount the power of nostalgia. Sound leaves a deep imprint on the brain and recalls past emotions at the drop of a hat. Music of all vibrations also brings people together. To dance. To celebrate. To connect.

The sacred chant Om (or Aum) represents the primordial vibration of the Universe. This harmonious all-encompassing sound immediately raises our frequency levels, opening up our awareness to the vast ocean of consciousness.

On that cosmic note…Ohhmmmmm!
