AWAKEN THE GODDESS WITHIN

Woman meditating

Silfath Pinto is a holistic lifestyle coach and sensual movement teacher who encourages women to create deep, loving and ecstatic relationships with themselves. By facing our fears and embracing our femininity, we can awaken our inner goddess

“One of my favorite offerings is my weekend immersion: Sensuality, Femininity, Serenity. These two days are designed for students to release what’s stopping them from accessing the radiant and abundant feminine energy within,” explains Silfath. “One of the key lessons in this workshop is understanding how the relationship you have with yourself is essential to your happiness. Your capacity to cultivate lasting pleasure is all down to you. We explore and shift the way students relate to their body and their experiences in life and try to find a better balance.

One student’s deepest desire was to awaken the goddess within, in order to experience and inner peace. While meditating on her deepest desires and what she needed to do to fulfill them, the image that came to her was pretty clear: she saw herself waking up in the morning, stressed out, hitting the floor with her feet and rushing to get ready. She heard her body telling her: ‘I am tired. You need to take a better care of me.’ ‘I need you to be more gentle with me’ and ‘I am close to breaking down’.

And as she was sharing her heartfelt story, tears were streaming down her face. I started tearing up too. She realised her emotional distress, her anxiety, the sleepless nights were related to the way she had overextended her body, always demanding more and yet not giving back love, attention or nurturing moments to relax. She was now at breaking point and her body was summoning her to find a healthier balance.

I advised her to change the first 10 minutes of her day. Firstly, I suggested she devote a morning ritual to herself. So waking up with music that warms her heart (I gave her a playlist with the songs she loves during our classes), followed by making time to stretch the body slowly, and then taking a few long, deep inhalations. Breathing properly is simple but powerful. I also recommended she wear less black clothes and more colour to uplift her mood. After six weeks of doing this, I received a note from her saying: ‘I am doing my morning ritual with music and candles, I am back to moving my body again and I’m going to my Zumba classes. I am also wearing more colours as you recommended. I am feeling great: more feminine and vibrant! You are doing an amazing work transforming lives. Thank you.’ This kind of feedback makes me realize the power that we have to love ourselves a little bit more.
