THINGS I LOVE THURSDAYS

Sarah Bladen

There are so many things to be thankful for and yet we often forget how lucky we are. Here are a few things that make life a little sweeter…

*As I spend more of my time doing everything from Kundalini Yoga to 5 Rhythms dance, I’m always on the look out for great gear to wear on the mat or in the dance studio. At the moment I’m loving these eye-popping South Beach-inspired Onzie pants and all in one purple tank top (yes, I’m wearing them the above photo) – they fit like a dream and can be ordered from The Hot Box Kit.

*To jazz up my shower time, I use Prince Charming gel from Lush, one of my favourite brands. This fun gel contains marshmallow root, fair trade vanilla pod, pomegranate juice and nourishing almond oil. There’s also organic sandalwood, geranium and grapefruit essential oils. Take a shower with Prince Charming and it will leave you feeling and smelling divine!

*I recently visited Greenheart Organic Farm in the UAE and was completely blown away by their delicious produce – they grow everything from the super sweet strawberries to the amazingly juicy tomatoes. I have never tasted such fresh fruit & veg in this region and it’s all thanks to the passion and vision of the founder, Elena Kinane. To get a box of lush, organic goods delivered to your doorstep go to www.greenheartuae.com.

*To mark World Water day, I’m going to rave about Voss water. Not because the taste is unbelievably pure and far superior to your average plastic-bottled brand but because this Norwegian company actually care about the future of the world’s most precious resource. In the words of Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, “On World Water Day, let us pledge to develop the policies needed to ensure that sustainable water and energy are secured for the many and not just the few”. You can support this initiative by boycotting water brands that ignore human rights, have monopolistic desires and less-than-honest advertising. Be a conscious consumer and research what you choose to drink. Besides maintaining a 100 % carbon neutrality, another great benefit of drinking Voss is that they deliver directly to your doorstep. *When it comes to make-up, I’m a fan of non-toxic, natural brands. And a friend recently introduced me to an Aussie brand called Nvey Eco. They refuse to test on animals and don’t use parabens, petrochemicals or synthetic fragrances. If you are after a product that delivers great results without any nasty ingredients to harm you or the environment, then I really recommend Nvey. Personally, I think they’ve taken ‘green’ cosmetics to the next level.
