THINGS I LOVE THURSDAYS

THINGS I LOVE THURSDAYS new

*This week the classic beauty brand Vaseline hosted a Mind, Body, Soul event at Anantara, The Palm Resort & Spa in Dubai. Our Zen-inspired morning kicked off with a Hatha yoga session (thanks to the lovely instructor Gillian Harper) on the sunny terrace above the pool. So, while we were doing our sun salutations, we looked out to the Arabian Sea. This was followed by a scrumptious healthy breakfast, where I chatted to the lovely ladies behind Detox Delight and my friend, Lakshya who holds free yoga classes every Saturday in Barsha Park. This was followed by talks on nutrition and beauty (by the way, I definitely recommend the newly launched cocoa butter Vaseline jelly – a multi-purpose gem). Plus, I’ll be returning to this stunning resort next Friday, to host a Mind, Body, Soul day. Stay tuned!

*If you’re looking for some positive mantra ornaments or love-inspired cushions to add to your home, pop into Falaknaz, The Warehouse in Al Quoz. The owner (the lovely Therese) has sourced many of her magical pieces from Bali. She also hosts fun, interactive workshops in her store and the next one is a Feng Shui course (on December 10th), taught by a master consultant called Samita Khanna. Besides exploring the five elements of energy that make up the basis of this Chinese wisdom, you’ll learn how to create a positive Chi flow in your home. For more info contact theresefoot@gmail.com

*This week I spent an evening at the newly opened, Life ‘n One, a transformational wellbeing centre located in a villa with a rustic-chic garden in Jumeirah 1. Run by the friendly Eda, this gorgeous spiritual oasis, transforms after sunset, into a candlelit wonderland with hammocks, swing chairs, vibrant music and healthy raw food bites outside in the garden. Everything from quantum biofeedback to yoga is available here. Go to www.lifenone.com.

*This week, I led a Heart Chakra meditation at Nyla, (if you’ve been living on a cloud, it’s the new fitness & wellness oasis off Al Wasl Road). If our heart chakra is deficient in energy, we experience a hardening of the heart, an inability to feel the flow of love energy. As a result, such people might become judgmental and critical. If our heart chakra is excessive in energy, then there’s an overwhelming demand for love (and a lack of self-love) and this can manifest itself in a relationship riddled with jealousy, mistrust and possessiveness. However, when our heart heals, we then open ourselves up to attracting an abundance of love and to giving and receiving an unconditional form of love. This Tuesday (at 8.30pm) I will be focusing upon our Throat Chakra. Truthful and meaningful communication is the key to freeing your throat chakra. If you’d like to join us for this candlelit meditation with positive energy transmissions and some soulful banter, please book on 04 321 2662.

*This morning, I’m off to the Dubai Yoga Festival – looking forward to doing an Odaka Yoga session with the international yogi Roberto, who also happens to be very easy on the eyes!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Love,
Sarah
